Our Partnership so far
Our journey began in 2007, when learning leads from across Scottish boards were invited to sit around the table and collaborate with learnPro to develop and facilitate an LMS that would take us into the 21st century and specifically meet the many educational, learning and statutory requirements of the NHS.
Over the years, learnPro have listened and acted upon the unique needs of the organisation and continue to deliver at no extra cost to boards, the functionality within the system. It has grown from an e-learning platform into a fully functional LMS.
Challenges
We asked:
- With an aging workforce, we need something that is easy to access and navigate.
- Managers need to be empowered to monitor and report on Corporate and Role specific MAST to internal committees, up through their hierarchy as well as external partners MAST and role-specific training.
- System administrators are required to provide monthly compliance reports to CMT, various committees and on occasion external agencies i.e. HIS and H&S exec.
- Allow administrators and business managers to produce their own reports at local level and to meet GDPR requirements (without giving access to the whole system).
- Provide an authoring tool that is user friendly and creative.
- Encourage staff to take ownership of their learning.
- How do we capture and report on classroom training within the organisation.
Solutions
- Created a user friendly interface that meets accessibility criteria and is easily navigated by user with minimal IT skills.
- Created Scorecard to enable managers to manage and monitor their statutory and mandatory obligations with the ability to view via a RAG report or produce a variety of reports from operational to directorate level at the click of a button.
- Developed a Reporting a functionality to empower local administrators to report on team performance at local level and provide reports to their managers restricted to their own directorates.
- Lab advanced allows developers to create learning which is engaging and easy to navigate and with the built in accessibility features within the platform ensures we meet accessibility standards for our diverse workforce.
- Monthly Summary Alert – automatically sends a monthly alert to users and managers highlighting their compliance and encourage completion of outstanding modules
- Course Booking Systems – allows the booking of classroom and external provider courses to be including, monitored and reported on via Scorecard.
- Appraisal and digital apps ACE have also been developed within the system which are available to boards.
Conclusion
Our journey is never-ending. As landscapes shift, learnPro rises to the challenges of developing newer functionalities within their system which offer boards a wide variety of functionality specifically developed to meet the needs at all levels within our NHS workforce.
