Graduate Apprenticeship Programme – with Edinburgh Napier University

Job Description

Software Development Graduate Apprenticeship (GA)

Earn a full-time salary plus benefits whilst studying for your Software Development BSc Hons Degree

Our GA is a full-time paid position that allows you to undertake a funded honours degree in Software Development at Edinburgh Napier University while working for Infographics (IG), a leading software manufacturer based in Edinburgh city centre, and part of the LearnPro Group.

Why you should apply

This is a brilliant opportunity for future tech stars – ideally suited to 2026 senior school leavers (who qualify for SAAS) looking to study for a 4-year Software Development Hons degree whilst earning a full-time salary and gaining valuable industry experience. Plus, you could have the opportunity to join IG permanently following graduation. You’ll also be studying at Scotland’s no.1 modern university!*

Rewards and salary

  • Varied, meaningful work – helping our emergency and professional services clients improve safety and efficiency.
  • £18-25k pa salary, plus annual paid holiday allowance of 30 days. (Subject to performance criteria and stage of apprenticeship).
  • Fully-funded place on Software Development Degree (BSc Hons, Edinburgh Napier University) with paid day release to attend classes.
  • Continuing professional development, with support for Microsoft qualifications.
  • A secure pathway to long-term success – you’ll develop in-demand skills and experience across the Microsoft technology stack.
  • Support of a dedicated mentor and structured training programme.
  • Hybrid office/home working – with access to our City Centre Hub for hotdesking.
  • The latest tech set-up, excellent road, rail, tram and bus links.
  • Complimentary staff events, tea/coffee, and end-of-Sprint lunches.
  • The opportunity to join IG permanently following graduation.
  • As part of the wider LearnPro Group (our parent company), you’ll get access to broader potential long-term career development opportunities across several software teams and locations in the UK and Europe!

How does a GA compare to a typical job or degree route?

As a full-time GA, you study the same subjects as those completing a traditional full-time software development undergraduate degree. But you will be employed full-time with us while you learn!

With the support of an IG personal mentor, you will learn via a mix of classroom and workplace-based training and assessment. Initially, you will complete 1 day per week of classroom/university learning and 4 days per week in the workplace with IG. Work and lecture time balance adjust as you progress through your degree.

You will be a valued IG team member, working within 3-week sprints, and attending daily stand-ups and end-of-sprint meetings. Over the course of your GA, you will spend time working across different tech teams (support, testing, development) to gain a broad range of experience and exposure to the Microsoft technology stack.

What are we looking for in our ideal candidate?

We are searching for future developers, DevOps engineers and infrastructure specialists who want to learn valuable tech and coding skills using the latest Microsoft tools – and ultimately hope to join us in a permanent role after graduating. We are therefore only seeking high-quality candidates who are eligible to attain entry to leading universities but recognise the benefits of this alternative, fast-tracked route to career success.

Essential requirements

  • You must have achieved or will achieve in 2026, in a single sitting, a minimum of 5 B grades at SQA ‘Higher’ or 3 B grades at CGE ‘A Level’ – including Maths. (Note that successful applicants typically achieve grades well above this baseline).
  • You must also be eligible for SAAS funding and have lived in the UK continuously without a break for 3 years before the course start date, and EU applicants must have settled status in the UK.
  • As the apprenticeship is based in Scotland, you must be resident here prior to your course starting.
  • Verified Right to Work in the UK.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • You are confident, organised and self-motivated when working independently in a suitable home-working/remote set-up.

Nice to have

  • Ideally, you will also have studied Computer Science to ‘Higher’ or ‘Advanced Higher’ level (or equivalent).
